Creating an #iPadnado 1 (Evolution of iPad Pilot to BYOiPad Initiative)
Nat Vaughn, Jason Heim,  Diane Horvath, Seth Hellerstein

This session is geared towards districts and administrators, walking them through how the middle school interdisciplinary team/school approached the iPad and mobile learning initiative for the district – from a process end to the actual implementation in the classes with the students (including the evaluative approach we used with parent engagement, workshops, etc.) – really walking through our ‘year at Blake’ – evolving from an idea to a district-purchased pilot to being able to launch a BYOiPad Initiative. The lessons we learned and approach we took as a team benefiting our students could offer much to others, sharing our approach, successes, mistakes, and growth process. Ideas and topics addressed during this presentation: philosophy of mistakes, professional development outline, transparency/communication with parents. We aim to make this presentation interactive for participants.
